Marr Contracting has published its first Social Impact Report covering the period from the launch of their Social Impact Strategy and Roadmap in 2021 up until December 2023.
The inaugural report highlights Marr’s journey in developing its strategy, outlines the business’ future intentions, and details its progress against five key focus areas:
- Health, safety and wellbeing;
- Environmental impact;
- Learning and development;
- Equality, diversity and inclusion; and
- Local employment.
“As a third-generation family-owned business we know that a good business is one that continually innovates and adapts to respond to the challenges of its time. And as problem-solvers who love a challenge, we are never shy of tackling the big issues,” said Marr’s Managing Director, Simon Marr.
“We know that our industry faces urgent challenges and believe that finding solutions requires looking at the issues from a multi-dimensional perspective. As our business has grown both in Australia and internationally, so has our commitment to embracing new technology, legislative changes and opportunities to do things better across all levels of our business,” Marr said.
“We know we have a long way to go, and innovation and productivity are key. For us, that means working collaboratively with our clients, end-clients, partners and supply chain to make our industry safer (for people and the planet), more inclusive and more sustainable,” he said.
